How to Jump Higher

A Burning Question

This is one of the most bugging question being asked by those involved in sports like basketball and volleyball. It is not just a bugging question though, the desire to jump higher is what most basketball athletes and more so volleyball athletes desire.

The reason is because a higher vertical jump results to an increased level of game and could propel you to a superstar status.

A lot of products have come out in the market offering exercise tutorials that could increase your vertical jump.

And many of us have bought such products and followed the instructions with mixed results both in their vertical jump and actual game performances.  Mixed because some have achieved vertical jump beyond their usual jump but have not drastically improve their game performance.

Jump and Timing Goes Hand in Hand

To achieve an improved game, you should not only know how to jump higher or increase your vertical jump but also couple this with good timing.

A lot of athletes who are not so tall and only have above average vertical jump but have done well in rebounds and spiking in basketball and volleyball respectively.  Why is that so?  It is because their jump is perfectly timed for the crucial rebound while others have jumped earlier or late, thus not getting the needed rebound for the team.

Common Technique

In our village, basketball fanatics put weights on their feet just above the feet itself while they jog and do workouts. This conditions their legs that such weight is normal thus, making it used to the heavy weight that when the weight is removed they feel so light and would be able to jump higher.

I am sure that just by talking to good athletes you can gain an insight into their technique even if its just one or two, if you combine all of them you may well have lots of them that you are now more expert than them when it comes to having a high vertical jump.

So do your research now and know "how to jump higher"!

Howdy OCD - Well now, at my age (and etc.) I am not going to learn to jump higher without a wee bit of technology on my side - rather, on my shoulders. I plan to someday harness up one of those surplus weather balloons, stand on a scale, fill the balloon with helium up to when I weigh maybe 5 pounds or so, and then start jumping (but only on a windless day, thank you),

Gus :-)))
