Google Adwords Keyword Research Tool

It is surprising the a lot of people that have started to write either for Hubpages or their own self-hosted blogs, are not aware of Google Adwords tool for keyword research. While those that are aware of this adwords tool have not taken advantage of it for their Adsense monetized blogs and hubs at Hubpages.

It is my suggestion to anyone who intends to earn money using Adsense to plan their articles or hubs before ever writing them. No one could ever ignore keyword research in this day and age of the internet due to the sheer number of websites, blogs and articles buying for online attention and Google Pagerank and indexing recognition.

Instead of randomly writing on any topic that comes our mind, it is A MUST that we conduct keyword research with google adword, not just to attract more traffic with highly searched keywords but also to determine what keywords have a high cost per click.

Why do we need keywords with a high cost per click? We need it because as publishers, it is our goal to reach Adsense payout in the earliest time possible, which can only be done with high traffic and high paying keywords.

In addition, we should also strive for high competition keywords, why? Because this keywords are the ones with a lot of google ads, therefore resulting to higher number of bids for our hub or blog google ads space.

And if you choose a really high traffic keyword, you should not worry about not getting enough search engine traffic to your site since there are a lot more than enough for everyone.

Strike a Balance between High Number of Search and Average Cost per Click (CPC)

I shall now be telling you my take on this one. Think for yourself and no need to consult anyone. Just put an assessment on how much you think you can attract (traffic share) on the total number of search on a percentage basis... multiplied by .... likelihood of clicks (your own assessment in percent) and multiplied by average CPC and you will obtain an estimate of adsense income per month if you use a keyword for your hubs or blogs. You can use the same percentage for traffic share on all keywords and same percentage for clicks on all keywords. If you use 20% for traffic share, use them on all keywords and if you use 2% for clicks, use 2% on all keywords. All figures that you would derive are just estimates to guide which keywords from adwords tool research to concentrate on.

However, you can also use different percentages if your adsense, i mean common sense thinks so! :)

Example

1. One very popular keyword is "clickbank". If your research with google adwords tool shows that it has about 50,000 traffic monthly, multiply that by 20% then multiply by 2% (you can use your own percentages) then by its average CPC for example 5.40 USD. You then get $1,080 income potential per month. That is if you successfully convert your desired percentages.

2. Another popular keyword is "affiliate". I adwords google keyword tool would show higher search volume. I think this is at 500,000 level but average CPC may be lower at $3.0 Assuming you only obtain 5% traffic share and 2% clicks.

Despite lower possible traffic share, your income potential is $1,500 which is higher than $1,080.

This would prompt you to balance your use of keywords. Sometimes, a highly searched keywords could offset a lower average Cost Per Click (CPC). While on some cases, a higher average CPC will mean more adsense income potential despite having a moderate amount of search engine traffic.

Therefore, I strongly suggest to everyone to use adwords google tool for keyword research and find both a high traffic and high average CPC keyword for you to maximize your adsense income. If you cannot find such a keyword, then balance traffic volume with average CPC.

Go, use google adwords keyword tool now! :)
