What Chess can teach us in life?

The principles of success and winning used in chess is applicable to what we do with our life.

In life, there is what we call an inviolable order and set of principles in order to succeed.  This order and principles is just like the principles used in the correct play of chess.

In chess, in order to win, you should first develop and centralize your pieces and there is an order of development that should be followed, especially in the opening stages which can be likened to the early life of a person starting with birth and then childhood.

In chess, you have to develop your minor pieces first towards the center of the chessboard, King castles to safety and then develop your major pieces towards the center.

Life also follows the same set of principles. A baby when born has to be developed by the parents and others around him or her.  Development should be towards what is the center of your life which is God and your family.

Failure to develop a child may lead to big problems later in life. In your development you have to follow certain order. A baby learns to turn before sitting and crawling before walking.

There are also developmental order that are non physical that a child or person must undergo.  You may only violate this principles to your disadvantage.

It is better for you to endure the hardship and difficulties of studying or earning a degree or gaining knowledge before you go enjoy the easy life.  Easy life is the life wherein you go to night outs, bar hoping, drinking spree and the like to the detriment of your studies.

Hardship and difficulties of gaining knowledge should be experienced first before you enjoy some things that you may wish to enjoy.  Even working and earning a paycheck should be second only to gaining knowledge.

If you violate life's principles in ordering things, you would only suffer more later on.  Principles such as this are inviolable because they are universal.

In chess, your opponent also punishes you with loss of material or loss of advantage if you violate developmental order as a chess player.

Chess principles could also be used to improve your business skills. Just like chess, business needs preparation and development order for your to become successful.

You cannot run a business if you do not first raise enough capital, gain knowledge in the type of business you wish to enter, register you business name and train your employees.

Plunging head on might cause you headaches later just like playing chess without enough knowledge on the variations and types of strategic and tactical possibilities that may be encountered in the game.

So, remember, chess principles when applied correctly can be used to pattern our life's decisions.
